Two flown by helicopter after two-vehicle wreck
Two people were flown by medical helicopter following a two-vehicle accident around 4:30 p.m Tuesday.
A motorcycle with two adults and a truck with an adult and child were involved in the accident that occurred at the intersection of Unionville and Mahood Road on Route 8.
According to Assistant Chief Nathan Wulff, the two motorcycle riders were taken by medical helicopter to Pittsburgh hospitals. One male driver and one juvenile passenger in the truck were evaluated at the scene, but neither was transported.
Three ambulances and a medic unit were called to the scene, all from Butler Ambulance Service. The helicopters used the grass field next to the Unionville Fire Station as a landing zone.
The cause of the accident and the extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.
