UPDATE: Rochester Road reopens after closing due to crew hitting gas line
UPDATE: Rochester reopened around 2.40 p.m. Monday.
CRANBERRY TWP — Rochester Road is closed after road crews struck a six-inch gas line under the roadway just before 10 a.m. Monday.
According to a Butler County emergency dispatcher, the gas line was struck at 9:50 a.m. on Rochester Road near the Cranberry Township municipal building. Roadwork has been planned for that segment of road for several months.
There is no estimate yet as to when the gas line will be repaired and the road passable.
