Thomas Hamilton Hogg

Thomas Hamilton Hogg, 69, of Slippery Rock, Brady Township, Butler County, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Southwest Hospice in Strongsville, Ohio, following an extended illness.

He was born April 25, 1951, in Kittanning, to Charles Robert Hogg and Agnes Smith Hogg.

He joins his loving wife of 46 years, Katherine Louella Shirey Hogg. They married on Aug. 12, 1971, and she preceded him in death on June 22, 2018.

Tom graduated from Slippery Rock State Teachers College, with a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in geology.

He held down two full-time jobs, first at Napco in Valencia, from 1974 until his retirement in 2009, where he worked as a traffic supervisor, and second, he was a full-time, self-employed farmer, working up until his recent health decline.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, hunting and fishing.

He had been a member of West Liberty Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Aaron M. Hogg of Slippery Rock and Matthew A. (Carrie) Hogg of Strongsville, Ohio; three sisters, Patricia J. Wyant of Freeport, Bettysue Corey of Rolla, Mo., and Wendy R. (Doug) Fabina of Owasso, Okla.; two brothers, David D. (Tammy) Hogg of Slippery Rock and J. Scott Hogg of Connellsville; and three grandchildren, Charles A. Hogg of Slippery Rock, and Julia E. Hogg and Jonathan T. Hogg of Strongsville, Ohio.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles R. Hogg Jr.; and two sisters, Diane Hohn and Judith L. Crissman.

HOGG — The family of Thomas Hamilton Hogg, who died Thursday, July 16, 2020, will observe a private visitation Monday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Slippery Rock Cemetery.
