Band, cheerleaders and fans allowed back in Butler stands

Drum major Nic Peterson opened the 2014-2015 school year with the annual Pie Festival at Art Bernardi Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014.

The band will play, the cheerleaders will cheer and fans are allowed back in the stands in Butler Friday night.

With the federal ruling Monday stating that Gov. Tom Wolf's order limiting spectators at sports games was unconstitutional, Butler Area School District has updated its rules for spectators for football.

Not only will cheerleaders and the marching band be allowed in the stadium during the game Friday, but all football players, cheerleaders and band members will be given two event spectator tickets to give to family members or friends.

No tickets will be sold at the games.

“At Butler, our stadium is large enough to accommodate more than 250 people with space for event spectators to socially distance,” said Superintendent Brian White in a news release on the school's website.

The district asks that those planning to attend complete the district's home wellness check which can be found at https://www.basdk12.org/Content/1780. Anyone who answer yes to any of the questions should refrain from attending.
