The Lighthouse Foundation, 116 Browns Hill Road, will be the beneficiary of the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania's regional Week of Caring.

From 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, volunteers will participate in projects to help neighbors in need and assist nonprofit agencies on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The projects are designed to give volunteers a variety of safe and innovative activities that create an impact on the vulnerable people it serves — making a difference in lives and communities long after the event ends.

ZELIENOPLE — Glade Run Lutheran Services will show the movie “Hocus Pocus” at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 (rain date Oct. 24) in the parking lot C, 30 Glade Run Drive.In addition to the drive-in movie, there will be a raffle, and inexpensive refreshments will be available for purchase.Space is limited. In conjunction with the Great American Cleanup of Pennsylvania, the East Brady Area Development Corp. will sponsor a town, highway and parks clean-up day Oct. 17.Participants are to meet at 9 a.m. the Farmer's National Bank parking lot, 433 Kelly's Way. Coffee and donuts will be provided by the Old Bank Deli.PennDOT will provide work gloves, safety vests and trash bags.
