Pine Twp. man named Buncher president, CEO

David Heaton

David Heaton, of Pine Township, has been named as the new president and CEO of The Buncher Company of Pittsburgh, which owns property at Jackson’s Pointe Commerce Park in Zelienople.

Heaton replaced Thomas J. Balestrieri as president and CEO of the company on Nov. 20 as the company continues a restructuring of the management that began late last year to meet the goals and objectives it established for the future, the company said.

Joining Heaton on the executive committee are senior officers and longtime employees, H. William Doring, executive vice president/treasurer and Brian Goetz, executive vice president and head of real estate operations. Both will be assigned broader responsibilities and duties as part of the planned corporate restructuring.

A graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Degree, Heaton had been with Oxford Development Company for more than 20 years and served as a project manager, construction director and vice president of development before being named chief operating officer in 2019.

Once solely owned by founder, Jack Buncher, a prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist, the company is now owned by six nonprofit organizations, including The Jack Buncher Foundation. The Buncher Company is a closely-held, Pittsburgh-based firm that has been developing real estate in southwestern Pennsylvania and elsewhere since 1954. Perhaps best known for its holdings in the Strip District and throughout the City of Pittsburgh and several commerce parks throughout the greater Pittsburgh area, the company also serves the railroad industry through its Multi-Service Supply Division.
