North Catholic volleyball returns to WPIAL Final
Top-seeded North Catholic improved to 15-0 on the season with a 3-0 victory over Seton LaSalle in the WPIAL Class 2A girls volleyball semifinals Tuesday night.
Match scores were 25-18, 25-13, 25-20.
The Trojanettes go on to play the Avonworth-Laurel winner for the WPIAL championship at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Robert Morris University's UPMC Events Center.
Keystone 3, Karns City 0 — The Gremlins dropped this District 9 2A semifinal by scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-18 to the top-seeded Panthers.
Emma Johns had two kills, five assists and four digs for Karns City. Ashley Fox had three kills and 14 digs, Rosie Carden two aces, four kills, five assists and five digs.
Amber Maurer contributed five digs, Ava Fox two kills and five digs.
Marcus Trask had two goals and two assists to lead Freeport to a 5-4 victory over Moon.Paul Zecca added an unassisted goal, Nick Dobransky and Jake Suwan goals for the Yellowjackets. Tyler Lang made 28 saves.
