David Schmid
David A. Schmid, 90, of Petrolia passed away Thursday, Dec, 10, 2020, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Born Feb. 8, 1930, in Butler, he was a son of the late Rodney and Rachel Reardon Schmid.
He was a chief in the United States Navy for 21 years and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.Following his retirement from the U.S. Navy, he worked for Witco Chemical Corporation in Petrolia.His interests included hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.Dave is survived by his three children, Ed Schmid and his wife, Kathy, of Bowie, Md., Jeannie Horner and her husband, Jesse, of Butler, and Heidi Patterson, of Mercer; six grandchildren, Brian, Erin, Ben, Sarah, Tyler, and Kylie; two sisters, Alice Manno, of Harrisville, and Marian Schmid, of Vandergrift; and two great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie, who passed away Feb. 10, 1973; and three brothers, Larry, Richard, and John Schmid.Schmid — There will be no visitation for David A.
