Raymond Neff
Raymond E. Neff, 75, of Butler passed away Friday afternoon, Dec. 11, 2020, at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 19, 1945, in Butler, he was a son of the late Herman Neff Sr. and Mary Agnes (Angert) Neff.
Raymond was a graduate of Butler High School and worked as a welder/fabricator for Pullman Standard until the plant closed and then for CUECO Equipment Co. He was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, enjoyed playing pool and camping and was known as “Captain” by his friends at Cheers Bar.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served proudly in the United States Army 118 Bandits Battalion Helicopter Assault Company, as door gunner.He is survived by his wife, Jeannie M. (Ritzert) Neff, whom he married Oct. 10, 1970; a son, Christopher Raymond Neff of Shenango Township; a daughter, Melissa (Edward) Firster of Shenango Township; five grandchildren, Brandon So, Michaela Taylor, Braiden Neff, Isabella Firster and Briar Firster; four siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings.Neff — Friends of Raymond E. Neff, who died Friday Dec. 11, 2020, will be received from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Geibel Funeral Home,201 East Cunningham St., Butler.A blessing service will be held, at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev.
