Riverset becomes part of Allegent CU
Allegent Community Federal Credit Union acquired Riverset Credit Union, combining two Western Pennsylvania-based financial institutions.
Riverset, which has one location, in Pittsburgh, will become part of Allegent, increasing the latter’s number of branches by 25%.
The credit union described the move as combining two “local, vibrant and financially stable credit unions,” both of which are based in the region.
“We are a responsible, member-driven community service organization and an integral part of the credit union industry, with deep, financially-sound, responsible roots,” Allegent CEO Angelo Lucatorto said. “The acquisition of Riverset Credit Union allows us to further our reach in the community and expand all offerings, while increasing our capital, financial strength and long-term sustainability.”
Prior to the acquisition, Allegent operated four locations, including one in Cranberry Township. It managed nearly $150 million in assets as of December, according to data from the National Credit Union Agency, and had more than 14,700 members. Riverset held more than $115 million in assets in December, the National Credit Union Agency reported, and had nearly 10,000 members at that time.
Correction: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated Riverset Credit Union had two branches. The credit union had one branch and one headquarters.
