Helen Gordon

Helen LaRue Gordon, 89, of Butler, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Aug. 18, 1931, in Homer City, she was the daughter of the late Peter Harvey Shank and Emma (Stonebraker) Shank.

Helen was a long-time member of Community Alliance Church. She loved to cook and do puzzles.

Surviving are her daughter, Susan (Larry) Bruner of Slippery Rock; three sons, Gregory (Evelyn) Gordon, Paul Gordon, and Daniel Gordon, all of Butler; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Simpson of Indiana, Pa.; a brother, Lloyd (Brenda) Shank of Sullivan, Ohio.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Gordon; a brother, Lisle Shank; and a sister, Kathryn Shank.

Gordon — A private service and burial will be held in the Butler County Memorial Park for Helen LaRue Gordon, who died Friday, Jan. 1, 2021.

Arrangements are under the direction of Young Funeral Home, 127 W Jefferson St, Butler.
