William King

William King

William “Kent” King, 66, of Port Wentworth, Ga., and husband of Margaret “Margie” Metcalfe King, passed away Friday evening, Jan. 1, 2021, at Memorial University Medical Center.

Born in Siloam Springs, Ark., he was the son of the late Donald Lee King and the late Daneen Deal King.

Kent graduated from Seneca Valley High School, where he met the love of his life, Margie King. They were married in the Spring of 1976 in Harmony.

Everyone who knew Kent knew him to be a kind and funny man, who loved his family and friends with his whole heart. He was a person that would go without to make sure the ones he loved had everything and more.

Together for 44 years, he is survived by Margaret “Margie” Sue Metcalfe King; one daughter, Morgan Hartman (Tim); one son, Matthew “Matt” King (Marie Ruschel); four grandchildren, Avery Hartman, Nevaeh Ruschel, Trinity King and Gage King; one sister, Kelly Ray King; and his aunt, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Kent was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly (King) Lang.

KING — A memorial service for William “Kent” King, who died Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, will be held at a later date to be announced in Pennsylvania.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gamble Funeral Service, Savannah, Ga.

In remembrance of Kent’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, or Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
