KC rolls past Clarion, 80-24
Chase Beighley scored 26 points and Nathan Waltman logged another double-double as the Karns City boys basketball team jumped out to a 28-8 lead and never let up on the way to an 80-24 rout over Clarion at home Thursday night.
Waltman had 14 points and 15 rebounds for the Gremlins (13-1). The big man also had five assists.
Karns City held Clarion (8-4) leading scorer Cal German without a point until the senior left the game in the second quarter with an injury.
Beighley also added six assists and Micah Rupp scored eight points to go with nine rebounds for the Gremlins.

The Slippery Rock boys and girls swimming teams recorded 12 District 10 qualifying times, but both fell to Grove City Thursday night.The Rockets' girls fell 94½-70½ and the boys dropped a 102-28 decision.Still, Natalie Double (200 individual medley, backstroke and 200 freestyle), Katie Shea (100 butterfly), Ashley Shea (50 free), Gracie Olshanski (50 freestyle), Alyssa Olshanski (200 individual medley), Reagan Suorsa (100 butterfly) and the 200 freestyle relay team of Double, Ashley and Katie Shea and Gracie Olshanski posted qualifying times for the girls.Kevin Bowser swam qualifying times in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke and Connor Wallace a qualifying time in the 100 freestyle for the Rockets.
