Marjory J. Burk

Marjory J. (Fischer) Burk, 97, of Middlesex Township passed away Jan. 10, 2021.

Born on Dec. 19, 1923, in Bakerstown, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Urna Hill Fischer.

She was the beloved wife of the late John H. Burk; loving mother of John (Catherine) Burk Jr., Connie (the late Ronald) Weismann, and the late David Burk; the sister of the late Helen “Lois” Lynch, and Jack, Don and Harry Fischer; and the dear grandmother of Melinda Hayostek, Timothy (Nikki) Burk, Michelle Weismann and Jeffrey Weismann.

She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Pierce, Grant, Derek and Bella.

Marjory was the second generation owner of Fischer Nursery in Middlesex, which she and her husband, John took over operations in the early 1950s.

Marjory could be found in the greenhouse working with plants, while her husband could be found outdoors in the nursery.

She was a devoted and longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, loved house plants, gardening, playing cards, traveling, movies, and maintaining her large collection of dolls.

BURK — Arrangements for Marjory J. (Fischer) Burk, who died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, were handled by Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Bakerstown.

Memorial services will be held at a future date and time.

The family suggests donations to First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, P.O. Box 127, Bakerstown, PA 15007.
