COVID Update 2/16: Vaccinations, recovery rate increasing

COVID-19 vaccinations in the county and across the state continue to climb along with the statewide recovery rate.

The number of people in the county who received both doses of the vaccine and are considered fully covered increased to 7,047 Tuesday from 5,757 Friday, and the number of people who received one dose and are considered partially covered increased to 17,712 from 16,923 Friday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

The statewide numbers show 421,640 people are fully covered and 1,282,045 people are partially covered.

Also as of Tuesday, the state recovery rate climbed to 88%. The rate was 85% early last week.

County information shows an increase of 16 new cases from Monday to a total of 8,703 on Tuesday. The number of deaths in the county remained at 354. Two new deaths in the county have been reported since Friday.

There were 899,237 total cases and 23,126 deaths in the state as of Tuesday.
