Arlene Fair
Arlene B. Fair. 90, of West Freedom, Parker, passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 17, 2021, at her son’s residence following a period of declining health.
Born on Feb. 9, 1930, in West Monterey, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Emily Everett Barbera.
She was married to John E. Fair on Sept. 8, 1951, and he passed away April 3, 1984.
She was a member of the West Freedom United Methodist Church, and in earlier years was a Sunday School teacher, Brownie leader, and Girl Scout leader in Perry Township, West Freedom.
Arlene served as a caregiver in private and nursing homes, a cook at Plaza Restaurant, and a baker at the former Gallaghers’ Market.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol Fair and fiancé, Joe Altadonna of Erie; and a son, James L. Fair and wife, Carolyn of Oil City; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Janis Neely, Patricia (James) Wolfe, and Lola Morgan as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Arlene was preceded in death by a son, Byron “Barney” Fair; and an infant daughter, Cora Lynn Fair; brother, Gary Barbera and infant brother, Paul; and sisters, Donna Merryman, Mary Barbera, Wanda Bilinsky, and infant, Emily Barbera.
Fair — A limited visitation for Arlene B. Fair, who died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. Friday at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 South Wayne Ave., Parker, where a funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Daryl Larsen officiating. Burial will follow at Perryville Cemetery, near Parker.
