Bruce W. McCall, 66, of Elizabethtown, Pa., formerly of Grove City and West Sunbury, lost his courageous battle with brain cancer at 2:06 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at the Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy, Pa.

Bruce was born May 25, 1954, in Butler. He was the son of the late Francis F. “Buck” McCall and the late Donna I. Dillaman McCall.

Bruce worked for the transportation division of General Electric Co. in Grove City for more than 35 years.

He was a loving husband, caring father, grandfather and brother, who enjoyed spending time with his family. He lived his life to help others.

Bruce loved four-wheeling, camping, storytelling around the fire, and kayaking with family and friends.

Bruce had a God-given ability to imitate animals and could get them to call back to him.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kathy Vitale McCall, whom he married April 16, 1996; three children, Elizabeth (Bill) Farver of Rheems, Marie (Travis) Amon of Bainbridge, Pa., and Thomas (Emily) McCall of York, Pa.; and three grandchildren, Elliot Farver, and Caden and Kyler Amon.

He is also survived by five brothers and one sister, Paul (Dorothy) McCall of Butler, Linda (David) Jordan of Pleasantville, Pa., Gary McCall, his special needs brother, whom everyone affectionately calls “My Honey” of Sunnyview, Walter (Sally) McCall of Butler, Timothy (Shirley) McCall of West Sunbury, and Frank (Dreama) McCall of West Sunbury.

He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and one maternal aunt.

Bruce was preceded in death by one infant son, Bruce Wayne McCall Jr.; and his mother and his father.

MCCALL — Due to COVID-19, there will be a celebration of life service at a later date for Bruce W. McCall, who died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021.Burial will be in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of William F.
