Howard Rankin
Howard David Rankin (Dave or Buzzard), 69, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021.
Born Aug. 29, 1951, in Butler, he was the son of the late Howard and Helen Rankin.
Dave served his country honorably in United States Navy from 1970 to 1984. His military service included two tours of duty in Vietnam stationed in the Philippians on the USS Grayback. He was stationed state side in Groton, Conn. as a submarine instructor.Dave enjoyed spending time with Diane and their dogs. He also enjoyed woodworking, and Uncle Dave made the best cheesecake in the world!Dave was the loving husband of Diane; caring stepfather of Bethany Molnar of Pittsburgh and Sarah (Ryan) Bowser of Cranberry Township; dear brother of Chuck Rankin, Brenda (Rich) Hughes, Mary Doerr, Martha (Dave) Hughes, Donna (Duene) Douglass, Cindy (Dennis) Rankin-Lemons, and the late Phyllis Nicoletti, Carol Miller and Pamela Filsinger.Rankin — A celebration of life memorial service will be announced later this year for Howard David Rankin (Dave or Buzzard), who died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021.Arrangements are under the direction of Ball Funeral Chapel, Pittsburgh.
