Jack Alan Foster

Jack Alan Foster of Somerset, Ky. passed away peacefully on Jan. 17, 2021, at Lake Cumberland Hospital with family by his side. He fought a long, hard battle, and his desire to fight was evident until the end.

Jack was born June 10, 1942, to Gilmer “Gim” and Hazel Foster of Grove City.

Jack was a 1961 graduate of Grove City High School.

He was a longtime member of Grove City Masonic Lodge 800, as well as the Cincinnati Lodge.

He worked at Pullman Standard in Butler for many years, and eventually retired in 2013 from Surface Coating in Pontiac, Mich.

He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, tinkering in his garage and shooting the breeze with friends and family. His favorite pastime was working on and driving Coupe 222 at the local dirt tracks for 17 years.

Later in life, he enjoyed antique collecting with his loving wife. He also volunteered at Christmas time for a local children's hospital. Even after his retirement, Jack enjoyed working and continued to work for New Horizons Graphics of Somerset, Ky., until early 2020.

He leaves behind his wife, Diane Phillips Foster, whom he married Jan. 14, 1984.

He also leaves behind his six loving children, Lee Ann (Jim) Hune of Allison Park, Jackie (Fred) Pryor of Slippery Rock, Tracy (Greg) Angerett of Prospect, Bruce Roy (Tonya) Foster of Somerset, Ky., Gregg (Kate) Foster of Ortonville, Mich., and Bill (Jessica) Foster of Clarkston, Mich.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, Daniel McCall, Samuel Bellis, Brittany (Rhett) Keffer, Ty (April) Pryor, Tony Angerett, Nathan (Holly) Angerett, Saxon Angerett, Cierra Foster, Steven Foster, Christopher Maltry, Scarlet Maltry, Joseph Maltry, Henry Foster, Theodore Foster, June Foster, Jack Foster, Mickey Foster and Bo Foster.

Jack was also a great- grandfather to seven great- grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who hold dear their memories of Uncle Jack.

Jack also leaves behind three adoring sisters, Constance (Richard) Nadig of Tennessee, Carol (Jim) Brest of Mercer, and Kay (Dave) Thompson of Grove City.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents.

FOSTER — A celebration of life for Jack Alan Foster, who died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the Veterans Pavilion, Slippery Rock Park, 320 N. Main St., Slippery Rock. Anyone who held Jack dear and can share stories, memories and condolences are welcome to attend.If so inclined, please donate to your local dialysis center in memory of Jack Foster.
