Dorothy Smith

Dorothy Louise Smith, 82, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Mercer and Bradys Bend, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021.

Born June 14, 1938, in Bradys Bend, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Todorich.

She graduated from East Brady High School, and was a homemaker, beauty salon owner and operator for 13 years.

Dorothy was active in her church and local volunteer fire department’s women’s auxiliary.

Her hobbies included bowling, jigsaw puzzles, golfing, playing cards and spending time with friends and family.

She spent most of her married life in Mercer.

Survivors include her children, Suzanne Hoffman and spouse, Richard, of The Villages, Fla., William E. (Bill) Smith Jr. and spouse, Tracey, of Bivins, Texas, and Sandy Riede and spouse, Jason, of Amarillo, Texas; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters; and Fred Sonner, of The Villages, Fla., who played a loving part in her life for the last six years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse of 56 years, William E. (Bill) Smith Sr.; two brothers; three sisters; and a grandson, Derek Hoffman.

Smith — A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Louise Smith, who died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church, East Brady, with Rev. Guillermo Diaz officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Eusebius Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to Vitas Healthcare, vitascommunityconnection.org. The Central Florida Designation.
