Argeres Frangos

Argeres “Artie” Frangos, 89, of Mars passed away on Monday morning, Feb. 8, 2021, at Manor Care in North Hills.

Born Jan. 7, 1932, in Piraeus, Greece, he was the son of the late Lambros and Pagona Frangos.

He was a general contractor and owned Art Frangos Contracting.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He enjoyed WWE Wrestling and western shows, especially John Wayne.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara K. Ellis Frangos, whom he married on Nov. 7, 1992; three daughters, Margie Frangos Eliou of North Hills, Maria Feeney of Cranberry Township, and Michelle Frangos of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Kristin (Bill) Shreve, Karris Feeney, and James (Carrie) and Joseph (Cassie) Eliou; his great-grandchildren, Rae Lynn, Liam and Teagan Shreve, and Nicholas Eliou; a sister, Rena Stathi of Greece; a niece, Pia; a nephew, Takis; and his great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Nicholas Frangos.

FRANGOS — A private family viewing and service for Argeres “Artie” Frangos, who died Monday, Feb. 8, 2021, was held at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Township.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
