Rep. Jeff Pyle to retire

After 16 years, Rep. Jeff Pyle, R-60th, announced Tuesday, Mar. 16, 2021, that he will be retiring as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Rep. Jeff Pyle, R-60th, announced today he will be retiring as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

According to a news release Tuesday, Pyle planned to finish out the day before vacating the seat due to health issues.

“It has been a privilege to serve the residents of the 60th Legislative District for more than 16 years, but it's time to now put my health first,” Pyle said.

Pyle was diagnosed with kidney cancer in February 2005. It returned in his chest in October 2017. He suffered a stroke in 2020, and he continues his rehabilitation and cancer treatment.

While most of the 60th district is in Armstrong County, it also contains Buffalo and Winfield townships in Butler County as well as a few townships in Indiana County.
