Louise J. Emmett
Louise J. Emmett, 85, of Butler, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born May 1, 1935, in Butler, she was a daughter of Claude Rivers Sr. and Ella Catherine Rodgers Rivers.
Louise was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, where she worked for many years as an administrative secretary. In addition, her many volunteer activities at St. Andrew included serving as eucharistic minister and lector.
She is survived by one son, Charles D. Emmett of Pittsburgh; two “daughters,” Helen Morse of Pittsburgh and Beth Werner of Butler; three grandchildren, Johnathan Emmett, Meara Emmett and Katherine Emmett; one brother-in-law, John Emmett and John’s wife, Mary Grey Emmett, of Drexel Hill, Pa.; one sister-in-law, Virginia Rivers of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles W. Emmett, who passed away Jan. 11, 2010; nine brothers, John Rivers, Thomas Joseph “Joe” Rivers, Robert Rivers, Claude “Ike” Rivers, Donald “Dutch” Rivers, Eugene Rivers, Anthony “Nick” Rivers, James Rivers and Louis “Duke” Rivers; and four sisters, Mary Rivers, Ellen Imelda Rivers, Catherine “Lucille” Jenkins and Martha “Ann” Rivers Allen.
Louise’s family is comforted to know that Louise is finally seeing her husband and her mother again.
EMMETT — There was no visitation for Louise J. Emmett, who died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Nick Argentieri officiating.
Burial took place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
