Kevin P. McKernan

Kevin P. McKernan, 71, of Evans City passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, in the comfort of his home.

Born Jan. 31, 1950, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Edward Vincent McKernan Jr. and Margaret McGovern McKernan.

Kevin worked for Insulators Local 2.

He was passionate about antique cars and was a master at restoring them. He could always be caught in blue jeans. In his free time, Kevin enjoyed boating on the river and water skiing. He also loved to travel internationally, especially to his favorite spot, the Dominican Republic.

Above all, Kevin was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend, who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 27 years, Candace Ward McKernan, whom he married on April 1, 1993; his siblings, Susan M. Lipecky, Dennis J. McKernan, Michael F. McKernan (Linda), Nora A. “Missy” Sutermaster (Carl), and Elizabeth Bertsch (Pat “Skip”); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas R. McKernan, Kenneth J. McKernan and Edward V. McKernan III; and his brother-in-law, Dennis Lipecky.

MCKERNAN — Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private memorial service for Kevin P. McKernan, who died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, will be held by the family.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E.
