Rural Roads Safety Week starts

Farm safety event held Sunday

GROVE CITY — Doug Dick, chief of Superior Ambulance Service in Mercer County, said motorists trying to pass tractors account for several vehicle accidents a year in the region, and many result in at least an injury to the driver.

Sunday started Rural Roads Safety Week in Pennsylvania, and the state Farm Bureau began spreading awareness of what motorists should do when sharing the road with a farm vehicle, by teaming up with the Butler County Farm Bureau and local farmers, to host a safety event. Featured were 10 booths educating people on different aspects of farm and road safety in an agricultural area.
