Christine Grontkowski

Christine Rosenbauer Grontkowski passed away in hospice on Feb. 15, 2021.

Born March 11, 1939, in Pittsburgh and raised in Herman, she was the daughter to Leo and Dorothy Rosenbauer.

She attended college at Seton Hill College in Greensburg, Pa., then received a doctorate in Philosophy at Fordham University in New York.

She married Tom Grontkowski in 1966. She became a professor and administrator at universities across New York and Maryland, retiring in 2001. She moved to Washington State at that time to become a full-time grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Grontkowski of Issaquah, Wash.; her daughter, Laura Grontkowski James of Kirkland, Wash.; grandchildren, Owen and Fiona James of Kirkland, Wash.; and brothers, Philip Rosenbauer, Gerard Rosenbauer, and Jude Rosenbauer all of Butler.
