South Butler County School Board on Wednesday night:

- Approved the resignation of Pamela Mondock, business manager, effective July 1. Mondock has served in her position for almost two years. She accepted a position closer to her home.

- Heard David Foley, superintendent, report that asbestos in the glue beneath the old flooring in rooms 101, 105 and 303 at the intermediate elementary school will be professionally removed by American Contracting Enterprises for $8,505. Foley said the project will take place over the summer. He said no students or staff were exposed to the asbestos because it was beneath the flooring.

- Heard Foley report that because of the coronavirus pandemic, the car dealer that normally offers the district a vehicle to use for drivers education in the summer cannot do so. He said another dealer is being sought for a drivers education car.

- Heard Foley report that the preliminary 2021-22 budget will be voted on at the May 12 meeting. The final budget must be approved by June 30 according to state code.

- Heard Foley say Todd Trofimuk, high school principal, will discuss on Wednesday the plan for this year's graduation ceremonies.

MIDDLESEX TWP — Supervisors approved a number of items Wednesday afternoon, including:- Buying two police car laptop computers for a total of $5,000.- Advertising for construction bids for a township park trail.- Final subdivision for four lots totaling 44 acres along Sylvan Spring Lane.- Tabling approval of a bond reduction request for Hawkins Crest.- Looking into establishing a water testing ordinance in relation to development sites.

MARS — Mars Borough Council approved several items Monday night, including:- Getting an estimate on the police department's unused vehicle to determine the cost of putting it back in service as a backup car.- A resolution rehiring Bonnie Forsythe as full-time borough secretary-treasurer.- A resolution hiring Jamie Kochikch as part-time assistant secretary-treasurer.- Asking Kevin Noonan to serve on the council planning commission.- Asking Keith Magness to serve the remainder of Paul Smith's term on the Breakneck Creek Regional Authority board.- Moving Joseph Squire from the zoning hearing board to the planning commission.- A request for a food truck Saturday near the Grand Avenue-Pittsburgh Street intersection.The board went into executive session after the meeting for matters relating to real estate.
