Elizabeth Rezzetano

Elizabeth Rezzetano

Elizabeth Rezzetano, 88, of Slippery Rock, passed away peacefully April 16, 2021, at her son’s home in Slippery Rock. She spent her last several years battling dementia and strokes. John said it best, “Unless you knew my mom before the illness you really can’t understand how sad this really is.”

Born Sept. 27, 1932, in Scigliano, Cosenza Italy, Elizabeth lived a difficult life growing up during World War II. She married Orlando Falvo in 1952, immigrated to America and became an American citizen in 1954. She lost her husband Orlando in 1963; she remarried Frank Rezzetano in 1966, losing him 10 years later. She was strong and fearless, with a deep love for all her family and friends. After Orlando’s passing, she worked as a seamstress, and years later as a nurse’s aide at Passavant Hospital.

Elizabeth was part of a large family and is survived by sisters and a brother, Christina (Mario) Sisca, Vincenzo (Giannina) Alagia, Divina (the late Geppino) Greco, Amba (Santo) Grande and Milaide (Raffaelle) Pingitore; her sons, Tony (the late Dianne) Falvo and John (Diane) Falvo; grandchildren, Anthony (Melissa), Curt (Christy), Jessica, Logan (Megan), Joshua and Julianna Falvo; eight beautiful great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews among the Alagia/Falvo/Rezzetano families.

Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her sisters and their spouses Adriana (Francesco) Fuoco and Maria (Fausto) Astorino.

REZZETANO — Services are private for Elizabeth Rezzetano, who died April 16, 2021.

In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001 in Elizabeth’s name. The Falvo family is beholden to VNA Hospice Unit for the countless hours at the house. The VNA Hospice Unit makes lives much more bearable during such a difficult time.
