Anthony Gagliardi
Anthony W. “Tony” Gagliardi, 77, of Herman, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Born Nov. 15, 1943, in New Kensington, he was the son of the late Louis and Philomena Markijohn Gagliardi.
He was a 1961 graduate of Springdale High School.
A Vietnam veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Tony was an operating engineer, employed through Local 66 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was a life member of Local 66.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Parish, St. John the Evangelist worship site in Fenelton.
He was also a member of American Legion Post 117 and the Italian Fraternal Society of Butler, and he was a life member of the Herman Volunteer Fire Co.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores M. “Dee” Varshine Gagliardi, whom he married Oct. 5, 1963; five children, Denise Voelker and her husband, Paul, of Butler, Louis A. Gagliardi of Butler, Michael A. Gagliardi and his wife, Sherrie, of Butler, Robert A. Gagliardi and his wife, Angela, of Butler, and Sherry Myers of Butler; one sister, Carrol Lund of Florida; and eight grandchildren, Kayla and Kaitlyn Voelker, Kristen Thompson and her husband, Bud, Maggie and Monica Myers, and Austin, Alexis and Zane Gagliardi.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Anthony W. Gagliardi Jr., who passed away in 1968; and one son-in-law, Mark Myers.
GAGLIARDI — Friends of Anthony W. “Tony” Gagliardi, who died Saturday, May 22, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A blessing service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev.
