Jean Nellis

Jean M. Anderson Nellis, 81, of Hilliards, Pa., passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021.

Born on Dec. 3, 1939, at Butler Hospital, she was the daughter of John M. and Olive M. Chrisman Anderson. She was married to Richard E. Nellis Sr., who passed in 2012.

Jean graduated from the former Hooker High School. She loved spending her time making crafts with her mother, Olive. Together, they enjoyed taking their crafts to the Autumn Leaf Festival in Clarion, which they had done for years. She also enjoyed being outside and gardening. Jean was a very genuine person, and she was well-loved by all. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are two sons, Charles C. Nellis of Hilliards and Richard E. (Donna Lynn) Nellis Jr. of Fombell; two grandsons, Joshua A. Dengler of Pittsburgh and Adam M. Dengler of Alaska; one great-grandson, Mason Dengler of Pittsburgh; and five brothers, Paul (Patricia) Anderson of Rimersburg, Donald L. Anderson of Hilliards, Robert C. Anderson of Hilliards, James R. Anderson of Hilliards, and Thomas W. (Rose Marie) Anderson of Hilliards.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her son, John R. Nellis, who passed in 1987.
