Civil War veteran receives military headstone
Mary Carolyn Hunt of Pittsburgh, the great-granddaughter of Andrew Williams, a Civil War veteran, state legislator and Butler resident, accepted a history of the 63rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, during the dedication ceremony of a military headstone for her great-grandfather at Butler's North Side Cemetery Saturday.
Local lawmakers, veterans' groups and Civil War re-enactors braved the rain and wind to remember Williams' service to the cause of the Union.
This is an excerpt of a story that will appear in Tuesday's Butler Eagle.
