Alida Masyada

Alida Eucharia Masyada, 84, of Cranberry Township, formerly of St. Marys, Pa., passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021, while under the care of UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born Feb. 2, 1937, in Middletown, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Marie Labrecque Travers.

Alida was a faithful and active member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Cranberry Township, serving on the Funeral Luncheon Committee.

She enjoyed puzzles and playing card games. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 58 years, Donald Masyada, whom she married Feb. 23, 1963; her children, Marie (Brian) Gossic of Crafton, Pa., James (Melissa) Masyada of Louisville, Ky., and Pamela (William) Pietrusinski of Dresden, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Allison, Mackenzie and Jackson Masyada, Genevieve and Teresa Pietrusinski, and Abigail Gossic; her faithful companion, Spike; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Marie (Riguad) Paine, Jacqueline (Donald) Patterson and Jerri Travers.

MASYADA — The family of Alida Eucharia Masyada, who died Monday, May 10, 2021, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, with the Rev. Philip N. Farrell as celebrant.

She will be laid to rest at Holy Savior Cemetery in Pine Township.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to St. Ferdinand Catholic Church.
