Susanne Podobensky, 93, of Butler Township, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Concordia.

She was born on Oct. 12, 1927, in Berlin, Germany, and was the daughter of the late Ernst and Charlotte (O’Brien) Klingeberger.

Susanne was well-known for her meticulous gardens and yard. Neighbors would walk out of their way to admire her work, especially her tulips and tomatoes. She worked endlessly and fought to always stay busy. She was active in her gardens up until just a few years ago.

She was loved and will be forever missed.

Susanne was the loving mother of Harriet (Edward) Jurysta of Butler Township; the grandmother of Jennifer (Mark) Huba and Renée (Christopher) Ammon; and the great-grandmother of Bayleigh Ammon and Benjamin Huba.

She is also survived by her brother, Falko Klingeberger of Germany, and her cherished “Dog,” Lizzy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew Podobensky, who passed away in 1989; and her siblings, Irntraut Benau and Gernot Klingeberger.

PODOBENSKY — Friends of Susanne Podobensky, who died Saturday, May 15, 2021, will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.

Burial will be held privately.
