A guide to 4th of July in Butler County

<b>Sunday</b>All events are free.Cornhole tournament, 1 p.m., East Butler Volunteer Fire DepartmentCar and motorcycle show, 6 to 9 p.m., fire hall.Food and beer will be available for purchase at the outside pavilion during the car and motorcycle show, where a DJ will spin records.Fireworks by Ace Pyro will cap off the celebration at dusk from the baseball fields at the end of 10th Street. The fireworks, which will be accompanied by patriotic music, will be visible throughout the borough.Those interested in participating in the cornhole tournament can sign up just before the event begins.
<b>Sunday</b>Orchard Hill Church Fire and Ice event, 8 to 9:30 p.m., Orchard Hill Butler parking lot.
<b>Sunday</b>Parade, pet and bike parade, 1 p.m., West Arch Street and Anderson Avenue. Entertainment, noon to 3 p.m., includes a balloon artist, face painting, bounce house and airbrush tattoo artist. Fireworks will start at dusk.
<b>Saturday</b>New Life Christian Ministries and the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department will hold a fireworks display at dusk at the fire department's carnival grounds.
<b>Friday, Saturday</b>The Seven Fields Community Carnival, Seven Fields Town Park.The carnival features live music from 6 to 10 p.m. every night, and rides, attractions and concessions daily.Carnival opens at 6 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday.Fireworks by Pyrotechnico will serve as a grand finale to the event Saturday.
<b>Saturday</b>The Firecracker 5K, 7:15 a.m., at Ginger Hill. Registration begins at 6:45 a.m. Pre-registration can be completed by emailing Pierce at pabooklady@msn.com, and costs $25 for adults and $20 for youths under age 12.The course runs down West Cooper Street and back.Independence Day Celebration, 5 to 10 p.m., South Main Street.A number of local vendors will be featured.Free parking is available at the public parking lot on Elm Street and at Center Presbyterian Church.A C-17 flyover is planned courtesy of 911th Airlift Wing between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.The night will end with fireworks by Sky King Fireworks, launched from Slippery Rock Area Parks and Recreation at 9:15 p.m.<b>Sunday</b>Firefly Day on the Fourth, 8:30 to 10 p.m., Jennings Environmental Education Center. A 45-minute outdoor presentation will be followed by a stroll along the prairie trails. Registration is required, and spaces are limited.
<b>Sunday</b>Travis O'Neill with the Pennsylvania Game Commission will focus on the history of the decline of the bald eagle and steps taken to reestablish a healthy population, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wildbird Recovery, 120 Forsythe Road, Valencia. Registration required at www.wildbirdrecovery.org.
<b>Saturday</b>The West Sunbury American Legion Post 243 will provide fireworks at dusk at the West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department, 772 Hall Road.
<b>Sunday</b>Zelienople's Sixth Annual Firecracker 5K and one-mile walk and run. Registration opens at 7 a.m. The one-mile walk and run begins at 8 a.m.The 5K Run and Walk Rolling hills race through the streets of Zelienople and Harmony Borough begins at 8:15 a.m. A post race breakfast, party and awards ceremony follow at 9:15 a.m.Fourth of July parade, 1 p.m.Fireworks in the park, 9:30 p.m.The Zelienople Historical Society's Patriotic Porch Tour continues. Residents and businesses are invited to decorate homes or businesses in a patriotic theme. Decorations stay in place until Thursday.
