Sandra Zacherl
Sandra Ann Mashuda Zacherl, 72, of Butler, passed away in the comfort of her home with her family by her side on Thursday, June 10, 2021.
Born Jan. 10, 1949, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late David Joseph Mashuda and Lorena May Holt Mashuda.
Sandra attended grade school at St. Alphonsus School. She attended Vincentian High School her ninth-grade year, and graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 1967. She went on to receive her Associate of Arts degree from Butler County Community College. She was a member of the National Honor Society, a member of the dean’s list, and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
She was a member of St. Conrad (St. Fidelis) Catholic Church. She was very involved in numerous church capacities throughout the years, including five years on the Holy Sepulcher Pastoral Council and St. Christopher Parish Council, 17 years as the Holy Sepulcher health and bereavement ministry coordinator and the coordinator for the St. Christopher safe environment and prayer chain.
Sandra was most recently employed by Ed Shields Realtor as a secretary.
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, and especially loved her nine grandchildren. Sandra will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Sandra leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Walter Zacherl; her children, Michelle (Robert) Kapp of McKees Rocks, Melinda (Richard) McCartney of Fargo, N.D., Walter D. (Melissa) Zacherl of Albuquerque, N.M., and Eric J. (Laurel) Zacherl of Portersville; her grandchildren, Raymond McCartney, Ian McCartney, Jared Barton, Jesse Barton, Samantha Zacherl, Walter B. Zacherl, Emily Zacherl, Eric C. Zacherl and Angela Zacherl; and her siblings, Gary (Diane) Mashuda of Cranberry Township, Carol (William) Boice of Evans City, Duane “Mike” Mashuda of Zelienople, Susan (Mark) Cochran of Mars, and Philip (Linda) Mashuda of Jacobus, Pa.
ZACHERL — Friends of Sandra Ann Mashuda Zacherl, who died Thursday, June 10, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Friday at St. Conrad (St. Fidelis) Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler, with the Rev. John Baver officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Sandra to Colonial Gardens Guest House, 121 Steppland Road, Butler, PA 16002, where she had many happy memories serving the veteran residents throughout the years.
