Carl T. Hilderbrand, 87, of Franklin Township, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

Born Jan. 11, 1934, in Fenelton, he was the son of the late Christopher P. Hilderbrand and Annie M. (Waltman) Hilderbrand.

Carl graduated from Butler High School in 1951, and earned his associate degree in accounting from Penn State University.

He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army.Carl was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler for many years, where he served as a eucharistic minister.He was a member of several organizations, including the Chicora Moose Lodge 962, AARP, and the Chestnut Grove dinner and card club.In his free time, Carl enjoyed playing cards and dominos, and solving crossword puzzles.He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Sandra D. “Sandy” (Swigart) Hilderbrand, whom he married on Aug. 26, 1961; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; his sisters-in- law, Sally Swigart, Margaret Swigart and Emma Grace Protzman; and one brother-in-law, Don Swigart and his wife, Stirling.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard Hilderbrand, Robert Hilderbrand, Avanelle Dunmyre and Margaret Jean (Dunmyre) Helton; and two nephews, Matthew Carl Protzman and Bruce Dunmyre.HILDERBRAND — Friends of Carl T. Hilderbrand, who died Tuesday, June 15, 2021, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Conrad (St. Fidelis) Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler, with the Rev. Kevin Fazio officiating.He will be laid to rest at North Side Cemetery in Butler.Memorial donations may be made in his honor to a charity of the donor's choice.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
