Greggory Salina

Greggory John Salina, 62, of Butler, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021.

Born March 7, 1959, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Fred M. Salina and Susan K. Foley Mannison.

Gregg owned and operated Salina Contracting. He was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, a chairman of Boy Scout Troop 53, and a T-ball coach. Gregg was a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and achieved his commercial and helicopter pilot qualifications. He loved riding his motorcycle, being outdoors, and spending time with his son. Gregg was very detail oriented and enjoyed a challenge. Gregg was a master craftsman in areas of home building, knife crafting and everything else he encountered. He also enjoyed fine woodworking. Gregg loved mentoring, teaching fundamental values and giving back to his community. He was a go-getter and a very motivated fun-loving person. Gregg will be deeply missed.

Surviving are his loving son, Matthew Salina of Butler; his siblings, Kathryn (Richard) McGown of Evans City, Alane Salina of Butler and Michael Salina of Butler; nephews and niece, Brendon Stevenson, Taylor Stevenson and Kayle Salina; great-niece, Luna Salina; his girlfriend, Janet Brier of Renfrew; and his canine companion, Hunter. Also special recognition to Gregg's second family, the Schirra family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Theodore “Ted” M. Mannison.

Salina — Friends of Greggory John Salina, who died Saturday, July 17, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, with Father James Murphy, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
