James Frederick Johns

James Frederick Johns, 43, of Butler Township, formerly of West Deer Township, died Friday, July 30, 2021, in a tragic motorcycle crash.

He was born May 27, 1978, in Natrona Heights and was the son to the late James A. Johns and Phyllis M. (Dalak) Georgic of Winfield.

Jim grew up and graduated from Deer Lakes High School in 1996. Jim worked as a machinist for True Positions, Inc. in Richland Township and prior as a laborer for United Plate Glass in Butler. Jim enjoyed his weekend job at Pittsburgh Motor Speedway, where he took care of the track. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, anything outdoors and attending dirt track racing.

Besides his Mom, he is survived by his fiancé, Barbara Maxwell, with whom he lived; his father, Franklin V. Georgic Jr. of West Deer; his brothers, John R. (Catherine) Georgic of Winfield and Victor F. (Brianne) Georgic of West View; five nieces and nephews, Aurora, Valeria, Bjorn, Torben and Theodore Georgic; and his grandmother, Sue Georgic of West Deer.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his other grandparents.

JOHNS — Family and friends of James Frederick Johns, who died Friday, July 30, 2021, are invited to a visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, where a blessing services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

He will be privately laid to rest with his father.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be sent to the West Deer Dog Shelter, 109 East Union Road, Cheswick, PA 15024.
