Robert L. McCarl

Robert L. McCarl, 102, of Boyers, passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021, at his home.

Bob was born on July 3, 1919, in Grove City as the son of the late Harry D. McCarl and the late Elsie Truan McCarl. Bob was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army and owned and operated McCarl's Tavern. He was a former member of the Epiphany Catholic Church and present member of St. Faustina Parish and also was a member of the Boyers Sportsman Association.

Bob is survived by three daughters, Elsie Seanor of New Cumberland, Pa., Sylvia (Craig) Snyder of Boyers, and Diane (Jim “Buzz”) Carlantonio of Boyers; one son, Ron McCarl of Boyers; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda DeMatteis McCarl; five sisters and three brothers.

MCCARL — Family and friends of Robert L. McCarl, who died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021,will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Louis Catholic Church in West Sunbury, with Father Adam Verona of St. Faustina Parish officiating.

Burial will follow in Epiphany Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 249, Lyndora American Legion Post 778, and Butler American Legion Post 117.
