Bednar sidelined due to discomfort
PITTSBURGH — Mars graduate and Pittsburgh Pirate relief pitcher David Bednar is sidelined indefinitely with right-side discomfort.
Bednar is 3-1 with a 2.18 earned run average and three saves in 58 games for the Pirates this season.
