Concert, clam bake kick off festivalA Shane Alexander concert at Lincoln Hall and a clam bake at the Allegheny Grille are both planned for Sept. 25 in advance of the Sept. 26 fall festival in Foxburg.

FOXBURG — Singer/songwriter Shane Alexander will kick off the Foxburg fall festival later this month.

The 17th annual Foxburg Art, Food & Wine Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 26 on Main Street.

Alexander will perform “music for the heart and soul” the evening before the festival — at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 25 in Lincoln Hall, 42 S. Palmer St.

He will be presenting songs from all of his albums and some favorite covers, and he also will debut material from recent recordings in the intimate acoustics of Lincoln Hall.

A native of Butler, Alexander resides with his family in Southern California. Since his debut in 2005, he’s toured internationally countless times, both as a headliner and an opener for tours with Jewel, John Hiatt, Seal, Bon Iver, Suzanne Vega, Styx and Yes.

His songs have been featured in over 100 television shows and films. A solo acoustic track about growing up in Butler, recently passed 15 million streams on Spotify.

Tickets for the show are $25 for adults and $5 for students.

Visit www.alleghenyriverstone.org or call 724-659-3153 for tickets.

Another pre-festival event is a clam bake at Foxburg’s Allegheny Grille on Sept. 25; reservations are required, so call 724-659-5701.

The Foxburg festival will feature a wide variety of artisans offering handcrafted items. The Red Brick Gallery also will be open.

There will be plenty of food vendors lining Main Street including treats such as handcrafted Belgian chocolates, ice cream or gourmet coffee at Divani Chocolatier and Barista.

The Foxburg Wine Cellars offer more than 30 varieties of wine along with accessories and gift items.

Throughout the event Sept. 26, music will be provided by Max Schang at the Allegheny Grille Tent from noon to 2 p.m., the Richard Eustice Band at the Foxburg Wine Cellars patio from 2 to 4 p.m., and Samantha Sears from 4 to 6 p.m. at Divani Chocolatier.

Admission is free as is shuttle service from the designated parking area at Allegheny-Clarion Valley Elementary School, Route 58. Handicapped parking will be provided close to the event.
