Jean Davis

Jean Davis, 100, of Harrisville, passed away peacefully at her home Aug. 21, 2021.

Jean was born Jan. 1, 1921, in Butler. She was the daughter of the late John and Cora Scott Hoffman.

Jean graduated from Clintonville High School, and furthered her education by attending Pittsburgh Beauty Academy.

She married Harry Davis on April 27, 1949. He preceded her in death. Together, the couple had two children, Debby and John.

Jean worked as a beautician, and as Harrisville borough secretary. She also worked as a crossing guard for Harmony-Mercer Elementary School.

She was a devoted member of the Forestville Methodist Church.

Jean loved being with her family and creating wonderful memories. She enjoyed traveling, camping and boating. Jean loved good books and jigsaw puzzles.

Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her daughter Debby Fye and her husband, David Fye, of Harrisville; and her son, John Davis and his wife, Suzanne Davis, of Harrisville; her grandchildren, Samantha Matter and her husband, Rodney, Shawn Schmelzer and his wife, Vicki, Lauren Davis and Ryan Davis; her great-grandchildren, Michala Matter, Tresa Matter, Jake Schmelzer and Luke Schmelzer.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers; and her sister.

DAVIS — A public memorial service and time with the family of Jean Davis, who died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, will be held Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at Forestville United Methodist Church. Time with the family will begin at 3 p.m. with Jean's memorial service to follow at 4 p.m.

The Jamison-McKinley Funeral Home, Harrisville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
