Josephine Powell, 84, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa.

She was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Evans City, and was the daughter of William and Josephine Ziegler.

Josephine “Jo” drove a school bus for many years. She enjoyed going to bingo, building puzzles and playing poker with family.

She was known by many for her apple pies, and enjoyed making them for everyone. Jo loved and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Josephine leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband of 46 years, Charles; her children, Charles (Kim) Powell of Accident, Md., Teresa Bish of Butler, Valeria (Todd) Goodlin of Blairsville, Pa., Paul (Luann) Powell of Evans City, and Brandon Powell of Red Oak, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.

POWELL — A memorial service will be held at a later date for Josephine Powell, who died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021.
