St. Bernard shot in Marion Township by unknown assailant

Wilson, a 4-year-old St. Bernard, was likely shot between noon and 1:30 p.m. Sept. 30 on Porter Road in Marion Township. Harrisville police are seeking information about the incident.

Harrisville police department is seeking information about a St. Bernard that had reportedly been shot in the head and neck area by a shotgun Thursday.

According to a post on the borough's Facebook page, the 4-year-old Wilson was likely shot between noon and 1:30 p.m. Sept. 30 on Porter Road in Marion Township.

On Sunday, Harrisville Chief Alan Heller said Wilson's owners found him whimpering at their home Thursday afternoon with the injury. Heller and the owners don't know who would shoot the dog, or why.

“We're not sure why, we don't have anything at the present moment,” Heller said. “He is the sweetest dog, he will come up to you and lick you to death.”

Heller said Wilson's owners told him he is healing and eating once again as of Sunday.

Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to contact the department at 724-735-2030, or email Patrolman5752@zoominternet.net.
