Doretha Link

Doretha A. Link, 93, of Ridgeville, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021.

Doretha was born April 19, 1928, in Ridgeville. She was raised in Hilliards and was a daughter of the late Carl W. Stevens and late Florence Dean (Hutchison) Stevens.

Doretha married the love of her life, Arthur F. Link Sr. on June 15, 1948. They built a beautiful life together and celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on June 15, 2021.

She was an active member of the Ridgeville United Methodist Church, where she was the secretary of the United Methodist Women, helped with the “Tiny Angels” Ministry, was a member of Over 50 Club and taught Sunday school for over 40 years.

Doretha was known for her generous heart and her giving spirit.

She was a retired maintenance worker at the maintenance center at Slippery Rock University.

Doretha is survived by her husband; three daughters, Sandy (Norman) Weber of Nashville, Tenn., Sally McGallis of Ridgeville and Valerie (Joe) Grossman of Slippery Rock; one son, Arthur (Norma) Link Jr. of Slippery Rock; five grandchildren, Tiffany (Mike) Christie, Matt (Mandy) Grossman, Michael McGallis, Kara McGallis and “Artie” (Kelsey) Link III; and five great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Alex Christie, and Kendall, Ashton and Truman Grossman.

Doretha was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Snyder and Louise Day.

Doretha's family wishes to extend great thanks to the staff and nurses at Grove Manor Nursing Center in Grove City, for the kindness they had shown her family, and also to her dedicated caregivers, Jeannette Fleeger, Jeanne Kepple, Donna Ray and Paulette Vodenichar.

LINK — Services and burial for Doretha A. Link, who died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021, will be held privately in Rosewood Cemetery, Ridgeville.

Arrangements are under the direction of the William F. Young Funeral Home, West Sunbury.
