Larry L. Ellenberger
Larry L. “Tank” Ellenberger, 73, of Karns City, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 28, 1947, in Butler, he was a son of the late Dale Ellenberger and Gloria (Chura) Ellenberger.
Tank had worked in the erection department for Pullman Standard, and then worked for various companies, retiring in 2010.
He had many hobbies including playing softball for the Nazarene Church in Butler, bowling, and was a member of the Butler Hunting and Fishing Club, where he was on their archery team and had competed in several state competitions. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and grandchildren. He was a proud dad and pap, watching them in all the various sports that they participated in.
Surviving are his wife, Linda D. (Geibel) Ellenberger, whom he married March 21, 1966, in Hagerstown, Md.; four sons, Dale L. Ellenberger of West Virginia, Brian (Cathy) Ellenberger of Chicora, Roy (Tracy) Ellenberger of Petrolia and Mark (Kelly) Ellenberger of Butler; his siblings, Cindy (Keith) Selfridge of Butler, Darlene Taggart of Florida and Jerry Lee Chura of Butler; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Ellenberger; his grandson, Brandon K. Ellenberger; and his grandparents, Florence and Roy Watterson and Ruth and Floyd Ellenberger.
ELLENBERGER — Friends of Larry L. “Tank” Ellenberger, who died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be held in Gruenwald Cemetery, Butler.
