David Thomas Stewart, 86, of Mars, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021.

He was born on April 26, 1935. He graduated from Avalon High School in 1953, and married Donna Hahn on April 6, 1985.

He was a devoted family man, a loyal friend, a trusted mentor, and was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. He was known by his friends as “Dave” or “Stew.”

He was an avid car enthusiast, and spent many years enjoying the sport of racing; behind the wheel, working the pit crew or watching others race. He also enjoyed playing and watching football. He retired after a long successful career with Bell Telephone (AT&T), and enjoyed spending his free time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Donna Hahn Stewart; his parents, Thomas Harvey and Josephine (McCrory) Stewart; and his cousins, Walter Stewart (Evelyn) and John Stewart (Elsie).

He is survived by his children, Thomas Stewart, Jennifer Trobiani (Gary), Carol Genualdi (Tony), Delmar Becker (Kinet) and Peter Becker (Heather); his grandchildren, Angela Molchan (Michael), Samantha Trobiani, Miranda Trobiani-Dorman (Brent), David Genualdi, Jacob Becker, Madeline Becker, Nathaniel Becker and Brieanne Becker; and his cousin, Jean Whitehouse.

STEWART — A private memorial service for David Thomas Stewart, who died Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, will be held for the family.

Professional services were entrusted to D’ALESSANDRO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, Lawrenceville.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations made in his honor to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Park.
