Nelda N. Jeuther

Nelda N. Jeuther

Nelda N. Jeuther, 90, of Saxonburg, formerly of Mars, passed away on Monday morning, Oct. 4, 2021, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.

Born Dec. 1, 1930, in Tarentum, she was the daughter of the late George William and Bonnie Lynn Elza Shaffer.

Her passion was family, and for many years she had everyone home for Sunday dinner. When she wasn't cooking, she could be found cheering on her husband, Al, at the local tractor pulls. All of her grandchildren and great- grandchildren lovingly referred to her as “Gug.”

Nelda had been a bus driver for A.J. Myers and Sons at the Mars Area School District.

She was a member of the Gospel Fellowship PCA Church in Middlesex Township, where for years she sang in the choir, and helped the children make porcelain dolls during the Christian Recreation Program.

Nelda enjoyed sewing, and made many beautiful quilts for her family and friends.

Surviving are her husband to whom she would have been married for 73 years on Oct. 9, 2021, Albert G. Jeuther; three daughters, Colleen Thosteson of Butler, Robin Shemela (Ron) of Mars, and Becky Hughes (Bill) of Slippery Rock; 10 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lillard W., George D. and Jack L. Shaffer.

The family is grateful for the support of Concordia Visiting Nurses and Good Samaritan Hospice.
