The Butler Township public works department is advising residents about the winter maintenance policies in preparation for snowfall.

The township gives top priority to keeping roads free of ice and snow to ensure the safety of motorists and the public. Public works is only responsible for maintaining public roads, and no private roads.

Residents are asked to not plow or shovel snow into public roadways, and to park their cars off of roadways, in a driveway if possible, to allow for plows to remove snow efficiently from public streets.
