Jean Miller Jacoby

Jean Miller Jacoby

Jean Miller Jacoby, 78, of Center Township, Butler County, passed away peacefully in the company of family on Sunday evening, Oct. 24, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 29, 1943, the daughter of Russell and Lucille Miller of Centerville, Ohio. She was raised throughout high school on the family farm.

Jean was a 1965 graduate of Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio, with a bachelor's degree in secondary education. It was here she met her husband and lifelong partner of 57 years, Peter Jacoby. They were married in 1964.

She taught Spanish in the Fairborn City School system in Ohio, for 2½ years, before deciding her real calling was to raise a family and be a stay-at-home mom. She shared her husband's transfers, and lived in Ohio, California, back to Ohio, and finally back to Butler.

Jean was a past member of the Newcomer's Club, Butler Garden Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution, General Richard Butler Chapter.

She loved being with her children and cherished her grandchildren. All throughout her life, she loved her canine friends and was most recently devoted to her last shelter dog, Rusty.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest son, Steven P. Jacoby.

She is survived by her husband, Peter; her older sister, June of Longmont, Colo.; her youngest son, Brian and his wife, Tricia, of Fayetteville, Ga., and their son, Kyle and daughter, Hannah; her daughter-in-law, Donna Jacoby of Jacksonville, Fla., and her daughters, Emily and Anna; her nephew, Andrew Sullivan and his wife, Anna and family, of Bradenton, Fla.; and her niece, Lysa Sullivan and her husband, Kirk, of Athens, Ga.

JACOBY — Funeral services for Jean Miller Jacoby, who died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, will be held privately for family and close friends in Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
